Craft Tales - Apatite

Apatite: the stone of calm and balance

Apatite is a fascinating semi-precious stone known for its intense blue-green shades, colors that evoke the serenity of water and the freshness of nature. Its unique shine and natural beauty have made it one of the most valued stones in jewelry, especially in pieces full of meaning.

Although various ancient cultures used apatite decoratively, its chemical nature was not understood or formally classified until the late 18th century. Since then, this natural stone has sparked great interest both for its aesthetics and for its properties and symbolism.

The word apatite comes from the Greek apatos, meaning “to deceive” or “deception.” Its name is related to the Greek goddess Apate, goddess of deceit and dishonesty, because apatite can easily be mistaken for other precious stones like topaz, beryl, or olivine due to its variety of colors. However, far from the confusion that gave it its name, apatite symbolizes communication, clarity, and personal expression, thus relating to the throat chakra.

Inspired by the calm of water and natural landscapes, the Marisma necklace and the Marisma earrings were born in our Marinero collection. Handmade jewelry assembled in 924 silver with blue-green tones that bring freshness and a natural style perfect for any occasion.
