LOVE, AN ANCESTRAL FORCE
Since the beginning of time, love has never been merely a feeling. It has been destiny, ritual, offering, and protection. Throughout the centuries and across different cultures, human beings have tried to give form to something essentially invisible. We create symbols, rituals, and objects to attract love, protect it, remember it, or turn a promise into something tangible. Jewellery became part of this language.
The El Amor collection is born from that ancient relationship between jewellery and emotions.
This collection explores love through four ideas: protection, destiny, transformation, and connection. Not only romantic love, but love in all its forms. The people we want to protect, the promises we make, the memories we preserve, and the bonds that transform us.
From this idea, each piece of jewellery becomes a different interpretation of love.
Promesa draws inspiration from one of the most recognizable symbolic rings: the Irish Claddagh. Its traditional design shows two hands holding a heart beneath a crown—three elements representing friendship, love, and loyalty. A centuries-old symbolism that turns the ring into a representation of the bond between two people.
Borgia revives another fascinating tradition: jewelry designed to hide something inside. Inspired by ancient locket rings, which featured small compartments for keeping personal or symbolic objects, the ring opens to reveal a small red heart. The exterior protects what remains hidden, turning the jewelry itself into a secret.
The idea of carrying something intimate close to the body also appears in Ti Amo. A small locket that can be opened and bears the words “Ti amo” engraved on its back. A love letter transformed into jewelry.
La Llave y El Secreto plays with another pair of universal symbols: the key and the padlock. For centuries, keys have been associated with trust, access, and new beginnings, while padlocks represent what we want to protect. Separately, they have their own meanings; together, they speak of intimacy, what we keep safe, and the people we let in.
Protection takes another form in Vita, a pendant that brings together several symbols rich in meaning. The open hand serves as a protective gesture; the flaming heart represents love, devotion, and desire; and the snake symbolizes transformation, renewal, and eternity. Its ability to shed its skin made the snake, since Antiquity, a powerful symbol of regeneration and rebirth.
And then there is fate.
Amor Fati, literally “love of fate,” offers a different interpretation of love. The expression speaks to our relationship with life itself: not only accepting what happens to us, but understanding it as part of the path that makes us who we are.
Amulets, hearts, hands, keys, padlocks, and hidden messages. Objects change and their meanings evolve, but the instinct remains. Perhaps that is why we continue to wear symbols that have accompanied us for hundreds, even thousands, of years.
Today, we continue to choose meaningful jewelry to remember someone, represent a bond, mark an important moment, or keep close something we want to protect.
