NARCISO: THE FLOWER BORN FROM A MYTH
Alhaja's Narciso earrings are inspired by one of the most emblematic stories in Greek mythology and by the beauty of a flower that has symbolized rebirth and new beginnings for centuries.
According to legend, Narciso was the son of the river god Cephissus and the nymph Liriope. Over the years, countless nymphs and maidens fell in love with him, but Narcissus rejected all his suitors with indifference. As punishment for his arrogance, the goddess Nemesis led him to a pond of crystal-clear water, where he became captivated by his reflection in the water. Unable to look away, he remained there until he died. Where he fell, a flower sprang up that has borne his name ever since.
Beyond the myth, this flower has become a symbol of hope, transformation, and new beginnings. As one of the first species to bloom at the end of winter, it represents nature's awakening and the beginning of a new chapter.
Inspired by this meaning, the Narciso earrings reinterpret the delicacy of the flower through a sculptural, contemporary design. Their cascading petals gently wrap around the ear: one line sits in front of the lobe and another behind it, creating an effect of volume, movement, and light that makes each piece unique.
