Alhaja's creative universe is born in southern Spain, where tradition coexists with emotion, and where gestures, materials, and memories are passed down from generation to generation. Romancero: Images of an Inherited Beauty is our first book, a project that seeks to showcase the work of young female photographers (Alejandra Mere, Alicia Arce, Racccle, Celia Carrillo, and Almudena Blasco) whose vision is deeply connected to the values that define Alhaja's identity: beauty, folklore, the symbolic, and the popular.
The book is conceived with a clear intention: to be more than just a book. To be an act of care and a celebration of beauty, a beautiful, symbolic, and enduring editorial object, designed to transcend the commercial and become a collector's piece. The book features a foreword written by the artist and flamenco singer Ángeles Toledano, whose voice embodies the union between tradition and the new Andalusian sensibility. Her text, intimate and evocative in tone, serves as a poetic threshold: an invocation of origins, duende, and heritage transformed into art. Ángeles represents that generation which respects memory while renewing it at the same time; the same pursuit that inspires Romancero.
