This pendant was born in ancient Rome, where gods were part of everyday life and superstition coexisted with reason, a symbol charged with power was born: the fascinus. A small winged phallus considered deeply sacred and charged with vital energy. Its name comes from the Latin verb fascinare, meaning ‘to bewitch’ or ‘to protect with magic’. The fascinus was, literally, the thing that warded off evil with its enchanting force.

In a culture that understood sex as a positive source of life, pleasure and continuity, the phallus represented much more than desire: it was fertility, protection and joy. By endowing it with wings, the Romans elevated it further: as a divine symbol it could fly, ascend and connect the physical world with the sacred.

Includes a ring so you can put it on any chain. As a gift, we include a very fine spring clasp for you to use as a handle and insert it into thicker chains like the Creta or various chokers.
